Information for Year 11 pupils getting ready for the Course work deadline...


Here is a gentle reminder of the Assessment criteria and a simplified check list. You need to ensure all work (sketchbook and final piece) is ready for the end of January. Remember to ENJOY your creative journey, use the time you have left and be productive. Avoid panicking, if you get stuck ASK FOR HELP, look for inspiration and use the Art room at breaks, lunches, after school.

Set up your own studio space at home, take your book / work home as much as possible and e-mail me in the holiday if you have any questions. I’m here to support you.


A01 (20 marks)

‘Imaginative ideas supported by perceptive, sustained investigations. Independent, sensitive insights are supported by skillful use of critical understanding.’

·         Mind map (FULL of ideas)

·         Information on at least 2 artists in your own words

·         Examples of artist work, all labeled with Title / Date / Medium

·         Collected imagery from magazines, internet, newspapers

·         2 really good Artist copies with written analysis (use the help sheet)

 

A02 (20 marks)

‘Insightful and in-depth review, resulting in creative and imaginative developments. Recognises the full potential of materials, techniques and processes selected.’

·         Experiment with collage, paint, charcoal, pastels, printing, photoshop, sun prints

·         Experiment with found imagery, make sketches of ideas, make notes and further mind mapping

·         Select successful experiments and develop these further, annotate

 

A03 (20 marks)

‘Perceptive grasp of ideas and issues recorded, evidenced through sustained, comprehensive and creative use of visual/other forms. Any specialist terms are used appropriately and are expressed highly accurately’

·         Key words (dictionary.com, use glossary and art books in the Art office, make note of key words up on display in the Art room)

·         Good observational drawings (as many as you can manage in the time left)

·         Select ideas from original mind map and develop further

 

A04 (20 marks)

‘Intentions are fully realised through personal outcomes, demonstrating original, imaginative, inventive and exciting qualities, with highly appropriate connections between elements.’

·         Completed final piece

·         Photos of your work in progress, step by step process you went through

·         Written evaluation of your final piece, what worked well, what would you improve, links to artists studied, links to the theme etc.
